The Liberal Party has announced its replacement for outgoing Bass MHA Sue Napier.
State Opposition Leader Will Hodgman this afternoon announced Michele McGinity would run for the Liberals in Bass, joining Pam Dakin, Michael Ferguson, Peter Gutwein and Nick Pedley.
Ms McGinity rose to prominence during the battle between the Medical Council of Tasmania and her father, Scottsdale GP Dr Paul McGinity.
Mr Hodgman said Ms McGinity had a strong affinity with the rural areas of the Bass electorate.
Mrs Napier announced her intention to resign from politics last week, after being diagnosed with a second bout of cancer.
