TASMANIA'S Forest Practices Authority has suspended the review of the Forest Practices Code pending the outcome of high-level forestry talks.
The review was put on hold in July, for the authority to seek clarification from the state government on matters of future forest policy, which include:
Objectives for the management of biodiversity in forests.
The type and intensity of silvicultural regimes applied to native forests.
The management of smoke from planned burns and the impact of plantations on water catchments.
Public engagement in forest policy and planning.
Forestry Minister Bryan Green said it was sensible to wait for the forestry talks to conclude.
