All debaters were happy with their performance Leaders' reactions:

TASMANIA'S three political leaders were satisfied with their own performances at what was probably their last public appearance together yesterday before next Saturday's election.

Back in his dressing room after The Examiner State Leaders Debate in Launceston, Premier David Bartlett said that he was "very happy", with his performance.

"I'm feeling relaxed and on the ground running with the 50 events in five days that I have committed to," he said.

Mr Bartlett said that he wasn't surprised at the noisy audience reaction to some of the questions asked.

"Not at all considering who was in the audience," he said.

But he refused to elaborate on what he meant.

He said that he was disappointed that the subject range of the debate had not been broader to take in more about health and hospitals.

Opposition Leader Will Hodgman said that the debate had been a fantastic opportunity to discuss important issues in an open way.

"I really like that - I'm happy to debate David Bartlett and Nick McKim anytime and I'm pleased to be involved," Mr Hodgman said.

He said that he was not concerned about the heckling from the audience in response to a couple of questions.

In a dig at Mr Bartlett, he said: "There will always be different views and I'm happy to debate them in a forum like this rather than on Facebook."

Greens leader Nick McKim said that it was good to be in Northern Tasmania.

"I enjoyed the debate - the feeling in the auditorium was good," he said.

"People react the way that they feel and that's appropriate."
