THE editor of The Examiner, Fiona Reynolds, has resigned after accepting a senior appointment with the ABC as Tasmanian director.

Mrs Reynolds, 39, has been editor of The Examiner for the past two years.
She leaves on May 10.
General manager Phil Leersen paid tribute to Mrs Reynolds's achievements as editor and her outstanding contribution to The Examiner.
"Fiona has made a remarkable contribution to the newspaper, developing our website content and growing the organisation's total audience during her reign," he said.
Deputy editor Martin Gilmour will be acting editor, assisted by deputy editor Barry Prismall.
The position is being advertised nationally.
