THEY might be older than half of their clients, but Red Cross Meals on Wheels volunteers Elizabeth Fulton and Gwen Taylor have got a few deliveries in them yet.
Mrs Fulton, 92, of Norwood, and Mrs Taylor, 83, of Alanvale, have been delivering meals together since 1996.
The dynamic duo visit up to 16 clients on their Youngtown and Kings Meadows run every second Tuesday of the month.
``I'm the driver, and Elizabeth is the navigator,'' Mrs Taylor said.
``We always tell our friends to organise events on the second Tuesday, because in all this time, we've never had a rainy day.''
Mrs Taylor (``the young one'') and Mrs Fulton worked together at Launceston's Garrott and Garrott chartered accountants in the 1950s and '60s and have been friends ever since.
Mrs Fulton began delivering meals with the Launceston Church of Christ in 1989, but illness meant her husband could no longer accompany her.
Mrs Taylor said her mother had benefited from the Meals on Wheels service and she was only too happy to help her friend continue her work.
``You wouldn't think she is 92,'' Mrs Taylor said of her friend. ``She's doing a lot better than some of the people she helps.''
Despite their age, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Fulton said they had a few deliveries to make yet.
