Swim for 24 hours for MS

09 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM

THERE are not many people who would find swimming for 24 hours much fun.

But when it is for a cause that affects 20,000 Australians a year, it is an activity all should consider.

Registrations are now open for the June 16 MS Swimathon at the Launceston Aquatic Centre.

It starts at the Launceston Aquatic at 2pm and finishes at 2pm on June 17, and if you can swim and own a pair of bathers you can participate.

The event will be relay style and involves teams of up to 15 swimming continuously for 24 hours.

Organisers of the event are hoping to raise $20,000 which will be used to aid Tasmanian MS sufferers.

To register your team go to http://megaswimathon.gofundraise. com.au.
