ROD Hadfield, of Castlemaine, Victoria, is coy about the value of his twin-supercharged V8 Ford rod.
The 700-horsepower car was a feature at yesterday's inaugural Prestige Car, Bike and Model Show at Perth's Eskleigh home.
``The car owes me 26 years of my life,'' Mr Hadfield said when asked what it owed him.
``The motor and superchargers would cost $100,000 to replace, if you could find them today.''
Mr Hadfield was just 16 when he started building the show stealer.
``I used my school books to draw pictures of what I wanted to build and what it would look like when it was finished,'' he said.
``The car is exactly as I drew it - there's nothing altered.
``I fire it up whenever I need to, but it's certainly not something you'd drive every day.''
Organisers Rozanne Boyd and son Andrew said the 125 cars and motorcycles on show exceeded all expectations.
``Andrew got all these wonderful bikes and cars here today, I did the emailing, paperwork and phone calls,'' Mrs Boyd said of the fund-raiser.
