TENNIS players and golfers dominate the top-10 female money-earner list released by Forbes.
Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova tops the list having raked in $24.5 million over the past year, the most of any female athlete according to the magazine.
American tennis sisters Serena and Venus Williams came in second and third respectively in the list - Serena second with $20.2 million in earnings, and Venus third with $15.4 million.
US IndyCar driver Danica Patrick was fourth with $12 million, South Korean figure skater Kim Yu-na ($9.7 million) was fifth and Swedish golfer Annika Sorenstam was sixth with $8 million.
Fellow golfers Paula Creamer, of the US, with $5.2 million, and Mexican Lorena Ochoa with $5 million rounded out the list.
