Risdon prison appointment

06 Feb, 2012 03:44 PM
BRITISH man Brian Edwards was today named as the inaugural change management director for the Tasmania Prison Service.

Corrections Minister Nick McKim said his appointment was a major step toward making the changes recommended in last year’s Palmer Report on the problems inherent within the prison system.

Mr Edwards worked for 15 years in senior operational roles in Her Majesty’s Prison Service in the United Kingdom. Since 2006, he has worked as a consultant on corrections.

He has also been awarded an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
