OUR TOP 100 TASMANIAN HERITAGE ICONS

06 Nov, 2009 12:46 PM
One-hundred of the state's best-known icons will be celebrated on Tuesday with the publication of The Examiner's special supplement OUR TOP 100 TASMANIAN HERITAGE ICONS.

This 88-page supplement will follow the release of the National Trust's latest top 10 Tasmanian icons on Monday.

Last year the Trust's top ten icons were Salamanca Place and Market, Ross Bridge, Wineglass Bay, Burnie Athletic Club and Carnival, Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, Taste of Tasmania, Golden Nectar Leatherwood Honey, Cataract Gorge, Huon Pine and Tasdance.

The Examiner's advertising features manager Dan Ryan said the partnership, between The Examiner, the National Trust and Tasmanian Perpetual Trustees, emphasised the importance of history in Tasmania.

``We know our readers enjoy anything that relates to history and to Tasmania, so this is something many people will enjoy,'' Mr Ryan said.

``This really identifies how lucky we are to have these icons in our backyard and it will open many people's eyes to what is going on across the state.''

Look for the special feature OUR TOP 100 TASMANIAN HERITAGE ICONS in The Examiner on Tuesday (November 10).
