The Tenants Union is fighting the eviction of five Housing Tasmania tenants whom it claims were not told why their lease would not be renewed or given the right to appeal.
The union today took the fight to the Supreme Court on the grounds that the procedure breached the principles of natural justice.
Solicitor Ben Bartle said he had heard of two similar cases in the North and suspected that there would be more.
``We think there are probably more tenants being evicted in this way and people in the North and North-West given a notice to vacate on these grounds. We would ask them to urgently contact us,'' Mr Bartle said.
