HARRY Kewell is a definite starter in Tasmania's inaugural A-League soccer roster match in Launceston next week.
While a smorgasbord of talent will be on show when Melbourne Victory and Gold Coast United clash at Aurora Stadium on Wednesday night the crowd will be watching Socceroo star Kewell, the man often described as Australia's finest soccer export.
The former Leeds, Liverpool and Galatasaray forward has been in scintillating form for the dual A-League premier, despite the side's poor run of results.
The Victory's Tasmanian operations manager Noda Zissis said that Kewell would be a definite starter in a side that must win in Launceston to keep its finals aspirations alive.
``Harry has been playing some brilliant football,'' Mr Zissis said.
``And he will be part of a very strong side that will be coming to Tasmania.
``It really is a do-or-die match for the club. They won't accept anything less than a win.''
A frustrating 2-2 draw with Sydney FC on Australia Day saw the Victory remain in seventh place on the A-League ladder, four points adrift of sixth-placed Sydney with a game in hand.
The Victory led 2-0 at half-time thanks to strikes from Isaka Cernak and Fabio, only for Sydney's Bruno Cazarine to pull a goal back in the 56th minute.
Former Victory defender Sebastian Ryall broke the hearts of his former employers with a 90th-minute equaliser in what was a dismal second half from the Melbourne club.
The Melbourne Victory and Gold Coast United squads will arrive in Launceston on Monday.
