And judging by the vigour of the marsupial's prediction, it looks like the Victory is coming out with aggressive intent.

Tasmania Zoo's very own soccer oracle, Harry the five-year-old devil, was quick to launch himself at the Victory logo yesterday during a promotion for the A-League roster match against Gold Coast next Wednesday.

It is hoped that a crowd of 10,000 will turn out for the match in what could be the first of many A-League fixtures to be played in Launceston in years to come.

Zoo operations manager Robert Warren placed raw chicken on both Melbourne and Gold Coast team logos inside the devil enclosure.

Harry was then set loose.

He left no doubt as to who he favours for next Wednesday's match.

``I think he's nailed it,'' Mr Warren said. ``That looks like a comprehensive 2-0 win to the Victory to me.

``And by the looks of things Melbourne is going to come out and attack.''

Victory fans will hope Harry's skills can rival those of Paul the Octopus - the soothsaying cephalopod who predicted the outcome of all of Germany's matches at the 2010 World Cup.

Aurora Stadium manager Robert Groenewegen said he agreed with Harry's prediction.

``I expect a tight match though,'' he said.

Mr Groenewegen said more than 4000 people had already bought tickets for the match.
