THE ball just keeps rolling for the Deviot Community Association, which last month celebrated the end of a two-year wait for its new playground.
Children will now have equipment to play on while markets, tennis and more are happening at the town's beloved hall.
Association secretary Greg Ellick said a successful Tasmanian Community Fund grant had allowed them to complete the playground.
``Construction was finished in mid-January,'' Mr Ellick said.
``It happened very quickly and we're very happy about it ... we were only given two months to finalise it.''
He said the former treated pine playground was torn down in 2010.
``We picked it up from Exeter High School about 10 or 15 years ago,'' Mr Ellick said.
``We got the council to assess it for insurance _ it was assessed and condemned, it was ripped down two weeks later and we haven't had a playground since.''
But it doesn't stop there for the group, which is still busying itself with other plans for the area.
``The next thing is to knock down the old barbecue and put a new one up,'' he said.
``We're very happy with how things have come along in the last two years, I think it's an indication of the people involved at the time, we've also had new members in with fresh ideas and motivation.''
