FOR Fletcher Bagshaw the first day of school at Launceston Church Grammar could not come soon enough.
The five-year-old will start in prep with about 30 other pupils tomorrow.
Mum Alison Bagshaw, of Riverside, said her son was looking forward to joining his brother and sister at the school.
``I think he's a bit excited to see all his friends again,'' Mrs Bagshaw said.
``As he went to kindy there, he's already got friends but I think he is also looking forward to meeting his new teacher.
``He did say there would be lots of girls in his class this year though, so I'm not sure what he thinks of that.''
One of the school's prep teachers Kathy Williams said the first day of school would be filled with activities to help the children settle in to school life.
This will include a tour of the school, library and playing some introductory games to make new friends.
The children will also take painting and music lessons.
Launceston Church Grammar year 11 and 12 students returned to the college on Monday.
Government schools will return next week on Tuesday, February 14.
