HATS were the clear winner at the Launceston Cup barrier draw and fashion parade in the Brisbane Street Mall yesterday.
Launceston milliner Tanya Trotter relished the chance to show her intricate and hand-made designs to punters.
As models sashayed down the catwalk displaying her one-off headpieces she also shared her tips for the perfect fashion trifecta - co-ordinated hat, shoes and dress.
``I think this year we will see more classic and elegant styles. We are now going back to the 1920s, '30s, '40s and '50s styles with more of a hat than a small piece and a lot of bold colours,'' Miss Trotter said.
Miss Trotter has been making her own pieces since 2004 under the name Isabel Audrey.
She said she had already made about 25 original hats for this year's Launceston Cup.
``I don't try to make a hat twice, I will always alter it and change it up a bit,'' she said.
