College art event is straight Off The Streets

13 Oct, 1999 11:35 AM
The inspirational swirls of colour, light and movement during the recent Streets Alive youth project left such an impression on Launceston College staff and students that a combined follow-up arts event, Off The Streets, will be held at Earl Arts Centre tomorrow. And it's a total school performance, according to teacher coordinator Joh Muddle.

``The show will range through music, drama and photography, from classical music to our Rock Challenge winning band, and include our Irish band, Kyn Cardie,'' Ms Muddle said.

The event starts at 6pm tomorrow with an exhibition of photography opened by University of Tasmania at Launceston visual and performing arts head Jane Deeth.

Performances begin at 7pm with Urbs, Urbis.

A variety of poetry and prose will also be included.

And to round out the evening as a total college package, catering students will provide nibbles.

Tickets are $5 at the door or $12 for a family ticket.
