$8m loss for Forestry Tas

FORESTRY Tasmania recorded an operating loss of $8 million for the last financial year.

The loss comes after a $21 million drop in revenue and chairman Adrian Kloeden said the company had come through the forest industry's toughest year in four decades.

Forestry Tasmania's annual report showed it made a small operating profit, before the cost of managing formal reserves was taken into account.

Mr Kloeden said the development of the Ta Ann veneer mills and growing relationships with the Chinese market meant the outlook was positive.
