NO decisions have been made on how to spend $120 million set aside for regional development in Tasmania tied to the state-federal forests deal.
Five months ago the Commonwealth promised to invest that money over the next 15 years with $20 million available this financial year.
But the money will only be handed over on the proviso that laws to protect extra tracts of forest are passed by the Tasmanian Parliament.
A spokeswoman for Regional Development Minister Simon Crean said yesterday that a wishlist of projects was still being worked through.
``There are a range of projects currently under consideration,'' the spokeswoman said.
``The government is working closely with stakeholders and the Tasmanian government to identify projects in line with recommendations of the independent report by Professor Jonathan West.''
Professor West was commissioned to do a detailed socio-economic study of the areas most affected by changes in the forestry industry.
Environment groups reacted angrily on Friday to news that a promise under the same deal to initially protect 430,000 hectares of Tasmanian forest fell short by 1950 hectares.
