US ROCK legend Lenny Kravitz is coming to Tasmania for the first time.
The four-time Grammy award winning artist is set to entertain fans at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart on March 28.
``We received an overwhelming demand to take the show to Tasmania and couldn't deny the fans,'' promoter Andrew McManus said.
Kravitz's career spans 20 years with 35 million albums sold worldwide.
The singer, writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist is most famous for rock classics like, Are You Gonna Go My Way and American Woman.
It has been 18 years since Kravitz toured Australia and the tour follows the release of his ninth album, Black and White America in 2011.
``I am excited to return to Australia after so many years away,'' Kravitz said.
``It's going to be a great show and I cannot wait to see all my excited fans there. We are going to bring it!''
Popular Irish band the Cranberries, famous for their songs Zombie and Linger will also be joining the Kravitz tour along with Grammy winning Australian band, Wolfmother.
