Monkey business is all part of the fun

11 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
BONGO and Congo will be getting up to plenty of monkey business at this year's Festivale.

The Amazing Drumming Monkeys are a percussion duo made up of Xavier Beaubois and Troy Moore, of South Australia.

They gave people a free preview show in Launceston's Brisbane Street Mall yesterday, attracting around 50 people at one stage clapping their hands to the drums.

MC Alderman Danny Gibson said the duo was back at Festivale by popular demand after performing at the food and wine event two years ago.

Alderman Gibson said the shows were aimed at children aged from two to eight but that it would be fun for everyone to watch.

``There's a little bit of monkey in everyone, I'm sure everyone will enjoy them,'' he said.

The shows feature positive messages on sustainability, the importance of looking after the environment and getting along with each other.

The Amazing Drumming Monkeys will perform today at 11.30am and 3.35pm and tomorrow at 11.25am and 1.40pm.
