IF YOU like country music, then the Australian Italian Club is the place to be this weekend according to the Tasmanian Country Music Foundation.
The foundation is holding a Country Music Weekend featuring a range of Tasmanian and national artists.
President Murray Higgs said a highlight would be four-time golden guitarist Lawrie Minson who will hold a country music clinic on Saturday from 11am to 1pm.
``He's one of the best guitarists going around,'' Mr Murray said.
Minson, who has toured with the likes of Jimmy Barnes, Slim Dusty and Lee Kernaghan, will play banjo, pedal steel guitar, harmonica and guitar.
Tasmanian highlights of the festival include acoustic band Coyote Serenade, guitarist Dave Hawkins and Sherry Rand.
Mr Higgs, and committee members Keverall Bye, Roly Richardson, Jenny Payne and Lloyd Boxhall will all be playing over the weekend.
Mr Bye said anyone that liked country music would enjoy the weekend.
``There'll be something for everyone.''
There will be a walk-up show and Barratts Music people's choice award on Saturday from 2 to 8pm.
It is open to all country artists with registration on the day.
Tickets for the festival are $5 on Saturday and $10 on Sunday with children under 12 free.
