SYDNEY - When a Sydney children's author asked her friend, Sam Moran, two months ago to help launch a new book, she never dreamed she'd get so much publicity.
Aimee Atkins and Moran met on the set of The Wiggles 14 years ago when she was playing Dorothy The Dinosaur and he was a stand-in.
Yesterday, they launched Atkins's book, Billy's Boatshed, and were mobbed by media and dozens of families keen to show their support for the recently dumped Yellow Wiggle.
While Moran refused to be drawn on the fallout from his ousting, he confirmed talks were under way for future entertainment projects and joked that he might call on Atkins for a job.
``She asked me eight weeks ago if I'd come down and help launch her book,'' Moran said.
``I've read the book and loved them so I really wanted to come down and support her as a friend.''
Moran said he was enjoying family time and was unconcerned by the media attention.
