You'd be hard pressed to find a resident who won't be gazing into their television on Sunday night - whether to remember the 2006 Anzac Day disaster, live through the story of the trapped miners or just to see if that television bloke can do a decent Todd Russell impersonation.
It's a big deal for the area.
Tamar Valley residents won't find themselves alone on the couch - they'll be sharing the popcorn with viewers from across Tasmania and the rest of Australia.
''It's a national story,'' Beaconsfield Heritage Centre administrator Sharon Verhulst said.
''We've had visitors to the centre from Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia - all over - everybody has been really interested in the movie.''
Although the movie has caused a lot of talk for the area, there is no official screening event for the town.
One business said they had planned to show the movie on the night but decided against it, preferring not to profit from the disaster.
The movie is expected to trigger renewed interest from tourists, which is hoped will stimulate the local economy.
''There's no doubt that the movie will bring more attention,'' Ms Verhulst said.
Beaconsfield will screen 8.30pm Sunday on WIN.
