Not only that, but they can tell you how to feed, catch and look after chooks.
It's part of the ``Chooks in Schools'' program, and a number of North-West schools, including Forth, Wilmot, Sprent, Latrobe, Sassafras and Miandetta, are gearing up for the Devonport Poultry Club's open show on June 30.
At Forth, students collected eggs for the past two months, dated them, and on Friday, they learnt how to make scrambled eggs.
The students were also responsible for collecting food scraps at recess and lunch and feeding them to the chickens.
``It's given the kids without pets a really nice experience,'' teacher Leanne Purton said.
Asha Pohan, 7, said she had learnt a lot of responsibility by looking after the chooks and picking up their eggs.
``Every time I go into their cage, they follow me down the hill because they love me because I feed them,'' she said.
