Old bones pass on new lessons

09 Feb, 2012 03:00 AM
HIS eyes were open and his index finger was ready to touch the Nanosaurus bone as the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery launched its February playgroup yesterday.

Two-year-old Benjamin Meader, of South Launceston, was one of about 20 children who took part in the Looking and Seeing activities at Inveresk.

Playgroup co-ordinator Daphne Mitchell said the program, aimed at two to six-year-olds, involved storytelling, craft activities and games designed to introduce children to the museum and teach them basic science and observation skills.

The playgroup will run again next Wednesday. To book call 6323 3798 or email booking@qvmag.tas.gov.au. Admission is $5 a child.
