It is believed to be the only school in Tasmania to take on the measure, which sees each class teacher at the beginning of the four period blocks do a quick online roll check.
The results are then instantly collated on the school's online database and parents of any missing students notified.
Principal Shireen Thomas said that the school began the measure at the start of the term.
``We really just want to have kids at school learning,'' Ms Thomas said.
``We've followed our department guidelines and we've made the decision to take attendance every block of the day rather than only before the start and end of the day.''
Ms Thomas said that the school did not introduce it because it had a significant problem with students missing lessons but because it wanted to prevent a culture of acceptance.
She said that it was important that families and communities were made aware of it and that students were encouraged to come to school and face any fears or issues they had because it was only detrimental to them in the long run.
Ms Thomas said that a student that missed a lesson was counselled by their grade leader when they were next at school.
