POLICE are searching for three males in relation to an alleged assault at Trevallyn yesterday.

An 18-year-old male resident of a Pitt Avenue home received serious head injuries after a group of males allegedly attacked him with a bottle inside his home.

An 18-year-old Youngtown man has today been charged with criminal code assault and has been remanded in police custody to appear before an out-of-hours session of the Launceston Magistrates Court tonight.

A second man, a 19-year-old, has been given police bail after also being charged with criminal code assault, and will appear in court at a later date.

Detective Inspector Mike Otley, of Launceston's criminal investigation branch, said police were still seeking another three males to assist them with their investigation.

The alleged victim has been transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
