SYDNEY - The Cleo Bachelor of the Year competition has turned its back on NRL players, with a move towards foodies, musos and creative men.
It's believed to be the first time in the magazine competition's 24-year history that a rugby league player hasn't been included in the top 50 finalists.
Instead, foodies like patissier Adriano Zumbo, celebrity chef Curtis Stone and food photographer and chef Luke Burgess seem to be the flavour of the day.
Cleo editor Sarah Oakes said the top 50, officially announced in Sydney yesterday, reflected that women wanted a more "sensitive man".
"It is definitely a reflection of what is happening in popular culture," Ms Oakes said.
