The great Australian dream of home ownership has long been a staple of families' aspirations.
Just as every family is different and unique, every home should be too.
A Launceston-based company is giving families and homeowners the opportunity to build a home to suit their needs and desires.
CRB offers a range of flexible options, from house and land packages to designing and building.
Managing director Chris Reissig said that this was a popular option for those looking to move into a new home as it is more cost-friendly.
"Through our business relationship with Statewide Real Estate, we are able to offer customers competitive prices," he said.
"It further stimulates the economy with the sales of real estate and the number of local businesses and tradesmen that we utilise."
Throughout the building process, Mr Reissig is there with customers every step of the way.
The company works with Mark Harris, of Statewide Real Estate, to offer house and land packages that might otherwise be unavailable.
The combination of contacts between the two companies means that customers are able to access more blocks of land in more areas and have more options.
Through Mr Harris's role with Statewide Real Estate, CRB is able offer customers many options to sell their home and, in some cases, begin construction of a new home prior to selling their home.
Mr Reissig said that customers had found this service and convenience to be invaluable.
Once the location is decided, customers meet with Mr Reissig for a one-on-one consultation.
The personal service continues from start to finish with CRB.
"We start by having an in-depth meeting with the customers," Mr Reissig said.
"We start from scratch.
"All the customer's requirements and preferences in a home are fully explained and understood before we start to make any drafts."
Once Mr Reissig has collated the information, the planning moves to the drafts stage.
Everything is included in the drafts, from roof lines to window placement.
"We might go through the preliminary draft plan 20 times until the customer is happy with their draft," Mr Reissig said.
"From there, we assess how much the customer wants to spend and how we can make their plan stick to the parameters of their budget."
Mr Reissig's wife Emma, who has more seven years' experience as a colour consultant, then spends time with the customers, discussing everything from the colour of the carpets to the tone of the tiles in the bathroom.
CRB prides itself on delivering customers a three to four month turnaround with new houses.
Every stage of construction is perfectly planned out so that there are no delays and no hidden costs for customers.
To ensure the fastest possible turnaround for a new house, Mr Reissig ensures that there is an employee on the construction site every day.
Throughout building, the customer is still heavily involved with the project.
They will meet with CRB's contracted electrician to discuss the finer details of electricity throughout the home, such as dimming lights and power point placement.
They also meet with the tiler and tile sales representative when the house is near completion to assess the finer details of tile placements throughout the interior.
Mr Reissig further offers customers the option of meeting with a landscaper.
He also utilises his strong business relationship with Robin Nason of Robert Fergusson Retravision, Launceston.
This relationship enables Mr Reissig to provide his customers access to a professional with an in- depth knowledge of current and quality appliances.
Mr Reissig, together with Mr Nason, recommends Westinghouse appliances to customers.
There is one vital characteristic that ties these professionals together: their high level of customer service.
"Everyone that we introduce to our customers along the journey have fantastic people skills," Mr Reissig said.
"We find that people with these skills make the process more efficient, more enjoyable and more professional for everybody involved, but especially for the customer."
One of the final steps in the journey is the pre-inspection, which is in preparation for the handover of keys to the customer.
Mr Reissig said that this is one of the most important steps in the process.
"This is the part where the customers get a real look at their new home," he said.
"It's also a chance for us to pick- up any details we might have overlooked or fine tune anything.
"We walk them through the house, we show them any remotes or security systems that they might have to use and we make sure that they are satisfied with their new home.
"We don't just make the customers come to our office, hand over the money and give them the key - we deliver on our personal service guarantee until the very end."
